Zanka's First Club Penguin Army Experience: A Tale of Misfortune

Helloooo readers! Happy August! I hope you are all enjoying your summer 8). For me, I am READY for summer to be over!! I've always been a fan of the colder seasons and I am just so sensitive to heat that Summer is brutal ... Besides, my boyfriend is coming back in October for his birthday and I can't wait to cuddle with him under the covers to warm up 8)

Recently I've been playing a lot of Club Penguin Journey!! I grew up playing Club Penguin, so I am sooo happy to see people still keeping it alive..

HOWEVER.

Apparently armies are a thing? News to me! I was playing one day, hanging out in the coffee shop as one does when this random guy walked up to me and striked up a conversation. And of course me being naive and always wanting more friends I actually sat there and talked to this guy.. only for him to invite me to his fucking armies discord. I actually thought he wanted to be my friend, but no! He was just recruiting people! The army was called Water Vikings, and for the first bit I genuinely tried to be part of it and it felt like a community. But over time I realized how snarky and bitchy these people were honestly.

Imagine me, a 24 year old, getting in trouble by adults much older than me for making fart jokes. I'm tired boss. I even signed up for their media comittee and was going to start interviewing people for their newsletter (for free btw) and even offered my html skillset to do website design (for free btw) than god i never actually followed through. I wanted to leave a good handful of times, but what really pushed me to ditch was when I saw the discord server renamed to 'Curry Vikings', and when I asked "wtf" they said,

"Indians are taking over to scam us!"

So of course I called them out on being just blatantly racist, only to get lowkey laughed at for not 'getting the joke', and some lady around my age decided to pipe up all snarky and say, "Do you not realize how many of us like eating curry here". Girl. Girl we all know that is not the same thing. Are you dumb?

Anyways - I ended up taking my leave, didn't say goodbye or anything, I just left. And of course today, it HAPPENED AGAIN!!! I joined in on a group conversation, they shared their discord, omg it's another army. Please help me. I can't get rid of them. They are all so weird. Im crying. Not really. This shit sucks. Pardon me for wanting friends!

I've noticed alot throughout my life that cis and neurotypical people will look down on autistics and just baby them.. I was babied alot in that Water Sharty army and I could tell people just looked at me weird the entire time. It always made me kinda uncomfortable, especially being in a vc with people my age and feeling so out of place (and sometimes blatantly ignored) because I am obviously autistic.

The idea of a Club Penguin army is so genuinely stupid to me anyway, especially seeing their battles first hand and training. You join a vc with some guy yelling formations at you and you copy paste 'tactics' from the discord and spam them. That is so gay. As a gay person I am saying that shit is extremely gay. rolling my eyes
